About This Spot

Stepping into The Curry Club on Marine Parade in San Remo invites you into a modern Indian dining experience that feels both intimate and lively. Here, the pace is unhurried yet vibrant, creating a space where thoughtful conversation flows easily alongside the artistry of flavourful plates and carefully crafted cocktails. The atmosphere strikes a balance — warm and welcoming without feeling stuffy, with touches of contemporary style that nod to the region’s coastal charm.

What stands out is the way each dish offers more than just sustenance; it’s a moment of discovery. Expect unexpected companions on the plate — like a perfectly executed cauliflower steak that surprises with each bite or tacos that burst with vivid, fresh ingredients inspired by Indian traditions yet reimagined with a modern twist. Alongside these dishes, the carefully curated drinks menu features intriguing creations, providing a refreshing counterpoint to the spices and textures that define the food.

The staff add a quietly joyful thread to the experience, attentive without hovering, easy to chat with yet fully respectful of your evening’s flow. There’s a casual confidence to their service that complements the restaurant’s overall mood — one of relaxed sophistication where locals and visitors alike feel instantly at ease.

For those who appreciate the rhythm of a place that moves gently with its guests, The Curry Club offers more than a meal. It’s a spot to pause, explore flavours, share small human moments, and savor the simple pleasures of fresh, carefully considered food in good company.

5 stars = would come back Great food, delicious and very fresh. The pictures will do the rest of the talking. For those conscious about this kind of thing: the prices seem high, it was exactly $90 for what you see in the photos plus a beer. Although very worth it in my opinion if the food deserves it.

Visiting from Sydney and my local Melbourne friends and so glad we found Kelp! The vibe is relaxed but stylish, and the staff were genuinely lovely, welcoming and attentive from the moment I walked in. I had the fish tacos and ceviche, both were fresh, flavourful, and beautifully done. And the Mango Bongo cocktail was a standout because it’s tropical, refreshing, and just delicious. You can tell there’s real care in everything they do here. Definitely a spot I’ll come back to next time I’m in town!

Kelp is always a must to visit for us. The staff are super friendly, the atmosphere is funky, and the service is quick. The burgers and tacos are mouthwatering, the cocktails and on-tap beer are top-notch, and the kingfish ceviche is consistently amazing. It's definitely one of the top restaurants on the Bass Coast!

What an amazing dining experience. From the service to the cocktails to the food, all faultless. The best Mexican tapas, with a twist, I have ever had. Will definitely return again when visiting the area. Thanks to the whole team
